Overview
The approval workflow lets you send a piece of content to a reviewer before it goes live. The reviewer opens a secure link, sees a faithful preview of exactly what will be published, and approves it, rejects it, or requests changes — all without a ContentScaler account. While approval is required and not yet granted, the content cannot be published or scheduled, and its status is shown as a badge everywhere the item appears. It applies to both social posts and content pages.
Details
- Use it when a client or manager must sign off before anything is published, or when you need a clear, recorded approval trail across stakeholders.
- The reviewer needs no login — the secure link is their access, valid for 72 hours by default.
- The block is enforced on the server as well as in the interface, so it cannot be bypassed — including at automatic publish time.
- Approval is different from OAuth requests, which ask a social account owner to authorize an account; that is part of social publishing.
Check before you move on
- If approval is not required for an item, nothing changes — you publish as normal.
- Editing approved content makes the approval stale, so you must request it again before publishing.
