Overview
A status badge appears wherever an item shows up: the postings table, the publish and schedule dialogs, the post detail view, the schedule queue and calendar, and the reviewer's own page. Knowing what each badge means tells you exactly why publishing is or isn't unlocked and what to do next.
Details
- Not required — this item does not need approval and can be published normally.
- Requested — an approval request has been created; Pending — it is waiting for the reviewer; Opened — the reviewer has opened the link.
- Approved — publishing is unlocked.
- Changes requested — the reviewer asked for changes; Rejected — the reviewer rejected the content. Both must be revised and re-submitted.
- Needs new approval (stale) — the content changed after approval and must be re-approved.
- Expired — the review link lapsed (72 hours by default); Cancelled — the requester withdrew it; Superseded — a newer request replaced this one.
Check before you move on
- Only Approved unlocks Publish Now and scheduling; every other state keeps them blocked.
- Stale, expired, and superseded all mean the same practical thing: send a fresh request.
