Overview
You can be publishing to WordPress in about five minutes. The setup has three parts: generate a secure Application Password in WordPress, enter your connection details in ContentScaler and test them, then publish a first page as a draft to confirm everything looks right. Do the first publish as a draft so you can review it in WordPress before it goes live.
Steps
- In WordPress, go to Users -> Profile, scroll to Application Passwords, enter the name ContentScaler, click Add New Application Password, and copy the generated password immediately (you won't see it again).
- In ContentScaler, open Settings -> WordPress and click Configure for your domain.
- Enter the WordPress URL (with https://), your username, and the Application Password, and set Default Post Status to Draft.
- Click Test Connection — you should see a success result with the WordPress version and REST API available — then Save Configuration.
- Open your domain's Content Pages tab, pick a page, choose Actions -> Publish to WordPress, set Post Status to Draft, review the credit cost, and click Publish.
Details
- Publishing takes roughly 20-60 seconds depending on page size and image count.
- After publishing, verify in WordPress under Posts -> All Posts; preview the draft and click Publish in WordPress when you are happy.
- The health status should show Linked and Healthy after a successful save.
Check before you move on
- Copy the entire Application Password including spaces, and use a password created specifically for this integration.
- If Test Connection fails, check HTTPS, the username, and whether a security plugin is blocking the REST API.
