Overview
Before you can post, a domain needs a social profile and at least one connected account. You authorize an account once through a secure window — ContentScaler never sees or stores the password. The exact flow depends on which provider your domain uses, but both end the same way: close the window and your connection status syncs automatically.
Steps
- On the Connections card (domain page or Customer Domain Settings), click Set Up Social Media if the domain has no social profile yet.
- Click Manage Social Media Connections to open the accounts dialog.
- PostPeer: pick a platform, click Add account, sign in and authorize in the secure window, then close it when you see "Connection complete."
- Upload-Post: click Open Connection Manager, connect each platform in the external window, then close the window when you are done.
- Click Refresh any time to re-sync live status; it also syncs automatically whenever a connection window closes.
Details
- Bluesky uses an app password instead of a pop-up login (PostPeer only): enter your handle or DID and an app password in the format xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx; it is sent once and not stored.
- Some platforms need one extra step because posts must target a destination — pick a Facebook Page, a LinkedIn Page, or a Pinterest Board. With Upload-Post all three need it; with PostPeer only Pinterest does.
- An account that still needs configuring shows an amber Setup required badge and a link to choose the page or board; once set it shows a green configured label with a pencil to change it.
- Status badges: Connected, Disconnected, Reauth (needs re-authorization), or Setup required. Use the unplug icon to disconnect and Reconnect to re-authorize.
Check before you move on
- Facebook and LinkedIn cannot post to personal profiles via the API — you must select a Page.
- If a freshly connected account looks stale, click Refresh before assuming something failed.
